Business incubator for copywriters
Write without the red tape — articles, product descriptions and content marketing invoiced B2B without a sole proprietorship or ZUS
How does the FDK incubator work for a copywriter?
A copywriter's work comes in projects, not in a permanent job. One month is an intensive e-commerce campaign, the next a series of SEO articles and ghostwriting for a manager. Different clients, different amounts, different deadlines. A classic sole proprietorship with ZUS contributions above 1 825 zł a month plus paperwork means fixed costs that swallow a significant part of your income — no matter how much the assignments brought in that particular month.
The FDK incubator works differently: you join the Foundation and operate under its legal personality. You issue invoices as the Foundation — to content agencies, SEO agencies, e-commerce businesses, publishers and brands. You receive your fee with only 6% PIT and the 400 zł subscription deducted. You pay no ZUS, you do not set up a company, and you have no accounting books to worry about.
Creative copywriting — articles, blogs, slogans, video scripts — can qualify as a work under copyright law. This makes it possible to apply 50% tax-deductible costs (KUP), which in practice means that the taxable base is only half of your fee. Combined with the 6% tax rate, this results in a very low effective tax burden — without having to run your own business.

Why is FDK the ideal solution for a copywriter?
Copywriting as creative activity — the 50% KUP advantage
Creative copywriting — articles, blogs, slogans, scripts, original product descriptions — can qualify as a work under the Polish Copyright Act. This means that 50% tax-deductible costs can be applied to the fee for such assignments. At a 12% tax rate (tax scale) this results in an effective tax of 6% on the whole amount — exactly the same effect as for developers or graphic designers. It is an enormous advantage for copywriters over other professions that have no access to 50% deductible costs.
Ghostwriting and copyright
Ghostwriting is a legal and widespread form of creative work. If you write articles, books or posts under someone else's name, your fee stems from the transfer of copyright in the text — and it is precisely this transaction that forms the basis for issuing an invoice. FDK has experience in settling ghostwriters' work and helps draw up the right contracts for specific work with clients, including copyright and confidentiality clauses.
Working with content and SEO agencies
Content agencies and SEO agencies are copywriters' main B2B clients. They expect VAT invoices, framework agreements and settlements delivered on time. FDK handles all of these requirements: it issues VAT invoices, prepares framework agreements and makes sure the paperwork is on time. A copywriter needs neither their own company nor a business bank account — the Foundation takes care of everything.
SEO and the classification of texts
Optimising a text for keywords does not change its creative character — an SEO article can still be a work, provided it is original and creative. If, however, an assignment concerns strictly technical work (an SEO audit, meta tag configuration, link building), the classification will be different and we apply a correspondingly different rate. For mixed assignments we advise on the optimal split, so that each part of the job is settled in the most favourable way.
Foreign clients and content platforms
More and more copywriters work with foreign clients — agencies from Germany, the UK and the USA — or with platforms such as Verblio, Contently and Textbroker. FDK handles invoices in foreign currencies, applies the reverse charge procedure for EU clients and advises on accounting for payments from content platforms. You can serve global clients without a registered business of your own in Poland.
You write. We will take care of the rest.
Settle your articles, content marketing and ghostwriting legally and cheaply. No ZUS, 6% PIT thanks to 50% deductible costs — more money for growth and new projects.
Frequently asked questions
Yes — provided the text is a manifestation of creative activity of an individual character. A blog article, an advertising slogan, a video script or an original product description can be works within the meaning of copyright law. No exceptional artistic level is required — it is enough for the text to be original and not a simple copy of existing content.
In practice, a copywriter should be able to justify the creative character of the text — their own concept, a distinctive style, a well-thought-out structure. At FDK we classify assignments as copyrighted works wherever this is justified — which makes it possible to apply 50% tax-deductible costs and reduce the effective tax to 6%.
Ghostwriting — writing texts signed by someone else — is a legal and widespread service. At FDK we invoice it as a creative service with a transfer of copyright in the text. The client pays for the work and for the right to use it. The Foundation issues the invoices on your behalf.
There is no obligation to state on the invoice that a text is ghostwritten — the invoice may describe it as "writing an article" or "producing content according to the brief". Confidentiality is governed by your agreement with the client. Our lawyers help draft such agreements with the appropriate NDA and copyright clauses.
Yes. Content agencies, media houses, SEO agencies and advertising agencies are typical B2B clients of copywriters. FDK issues VAT invoices to them. The agency receives an invoice it can book as a cost, and you receive your fee with only 6% PIT and the 400 zł subscription deducted.
There are no limits on the number of agencies or the number of invoices per month. We handle both one-off assignments (a single article) and ongoing cooperation (a monthly package of texts). FDK can also handle framework agreements with agencies that require regular settlements.
Copyright in the texts is governed by the terms of the contract for specific work (umowa o dzieło) that has been concluded. Where the contract provides for the transfer of economic copyright, the Contractor transfers to the Ordering Party the economic rights and the derivative rights to the completed work, on the terms set out in the contract.
The contract also defines the scope of the rights and the fields of exploitation on which the Ordering Party may use the work. The rights are transferred within the agreed fee, without time or territorial limits, in accordance with the terms of the contract.
The detailed copyright rules are set out in the contract for specific work concluded as part of the cooperation with FDK.
Optimising a text for keywords does not in itself change its creative character — an SEO article can still be a work if it is original. Qualification as a work and the 50% deductible costs depend on the creative character of the text, not on whether it contains keywords.
If, however, an assignment includes strictly technical SEO work (an audit, link building, technical configuration), that part has a different tax classification. At FDK we classify every assignment individually. For mixed assignments (content + technical SEO) we advise on the optimal split, which maximises the tax benefits while keeping the settlement correct.
Yes. We work with copywriters serving clients inside and outside the EU — agencies from Germany, the UK, the USA and Scandinavia. We issue invoices in euros, dollars and other currencies. For EU companies we apply the VAT reverse charge procedure.
In the case of foreign content platforms (e.g. Verblio, Contently, Textbroker) we advise on how to account correctly for regular payments. You can serve global clients without a registered business of your own in Poland — the Foundation has all the infrastructure needed for international settlements.
